Ubineer Deep Dive on Jabil Inc: Is the Working Capital Model Changing?

Chris Wittstock & Andi Kerenxhi • October 6, 2026

Editorial Note: Deep Dive first pass report compiled September 23, 2026.

Historically, Jabil (NYSE: JBL) maintained a capital-efficient framework with minimal asset overhead. However, the extraordinary volume of ongoing AI hardware expansion imposes substantial operational pressures on the company's lean structure, precipitating a clear trend toward elevated working capital demands. Inventory Days & Working Capital Burden: Q3 FY2026 Days in inventor is 84 vs 74 a year ago. Net of customer inventory deposits ($1.385 billion), net inventory days were approximately 68 days, remaining above Jabil's internal target range and reflecting the inventory absorption required for rack-level system integration. Management believes these will come down, and our Deep Dive analysis supports that. Additionally...
